A treat for those of you whose hearts cry out for meaning

A friend and I have been writing collaborative fiction under the shared alias of Miss Medellia Gray. Our fiction tends to explore what we feel is lacking from modern society, we honour past charms and revive dead words, restore the veils and the taboo.
We like to believe that Miss Medellia Gray represents the place in space and time where our souls meet as a creative force.

As a tribute to Miss Gray, we created a Myspace Profile - since she is a persona in her own right and we have given her a history. To us, she is a metaphysical odditidy, and has experienced many lives and many loves (including the likes of Lord Byron, Rudolph Valentino and Henry Miller).

If you are interested, please visit her here:

What should we call you?

How old are you?
Twenty three (neither old or young - but becoming aware it's time to get married and have some kids!)

Where do you belong in time?
Ever since picking up my first Georgette Heyer I have been absolutely convinced that I am a Georgian - yes, a massive era, and quite where depends on my mood.  Each decade has its own delights!

What are your hobbies?
  I love reading and writing,

What brings you to our community?
I want to share my love of the past... fairly obvious I guess.  None of my friends are really into this literature and history 'stuff' so thought it was time to try and make some new ones.

Would you like to share any photographs, words, etc?
  Perspicacity.  Me likes.

What brings me to this community: I am in need of inspiration in my life. Or maybe just to seek new things in life. To also bring hope in others lives and to help them reach their destination in life. :D

I made a little community to post the scraps of a story my mind created many years ago. It seems all sci-fi and confusing to the naked eye, but let me assure you it's not. I never mention any of that. Mainly everything is about a social situation and the way characters cope with life in their position. It's all about Monarchy and Love and Immortality. And all the values are quite 'old fashioned' which is why I'm mentioning it here. This (extremely long) story is kind of my route and inspiration to all of the things I love. Marie Antoinette, for example, means so much to me about of the link I have with my own fictional-monarchy. And the style and the dresses and palaces and everything like that is a love of mine because it's how I picture all of this to be.
I've only posted an unfinished extract so far. I hope to find some more pieces to fill it up with. And eventually I'll write something with a cronological order to it, I hope.
There's an introduction or background to the plot as the first post.
So yes, come look :] it would be nice for people to comment on what I've written so far!

When I visit the National Gallery and see things like this I pity the modern world. I mean, sure, some of the art created in our society is talented, but in much more of a Philosophical manner. Asthetically, I think the old art forms, especially those of people, are much more pleasing. And amazingly talented. Some of them are just so life like. I find that a lot of today's artistic talent lies heavily in the High Fashion industry. But maybe I'll post about that another time...
Today I went around collecting a few pictures, as I seem to do when I'm bored, and William Bouguereau really stood out to me. I'm not going to pretend that I know anything about Art, but his style and models are beautiful. I'm posting a few under the cut :] check out the costume...

Yes, I have been a member for quite some time and finally conjured up the courage to express my "hello" to everyone. :-)

What should we call you?
You may call me Caroline.

How old are you?
By birth, I am fifteen; but in spirit, I feel that I am much older.

Where do you belong in time?
There are many time periods I feel akin to: Medival, Victorian era, 20th century, the 80s.... I think it all depends on my diversities as to why I belong to these four periods. Medival suits my stubbornness and unwillingness (sometimes) to go along with a person's perspective. Victorian era is fitted for my feminine side, and my fascination with eclectic and classic fashion. The 20th century serves my willingness for change and how easily I can adapt to it. And the 80s....well, the pure authenticity and craziness matches my "wild" side, or the state when I feel the most blissful.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy writing, reading, photography, drawing, and researching about peculiar things. I find the more I increase my knowledge by reading/researching, the more inspiration I receive to express myself in art.

What brings you to our community?
The chance of meeting new people who feel the way I do of being trapped in the wrong era and trying to find out more of myself by joining.

Would you like to share any photographs, words, etc?:
Here are a few pictures I took while vacationing in Washington, D.C. I never realized how beautifully authentic the buildings in Georgetown were!
I hope you all enjoy. ;-)
